The Idea

Traveling with children can be a challenging experience for many parents. However, for our family it has always been an adventure that we cannot resist. We share a passion for traveling and we see it as an incredible opportunity not only to create memories but also to expose our three children to different cultures and experiences. We believe that traveling is a powerful tool that broadens perspectives and helps to shape character and we want our children to benefit from this firsthand. Thus, in summer 2023 we will embark on a 1-year long journey around the world, hoping to offer our children a unique and enriching experience.

Emmet & Laila at the Berlin Wall, 2019

We've always had a deep love for travel - in fact, Andrea even did her B.A. in International Tourism Management. Despite this passion, we believed for a long time that traveling with young children would be too difficult or unsafe, so we resigned ourselves to waiting until they were teenagers. However, the COVID-19 pandemic completely shifted our perspective. We realized that life is unpredictable, and we didn't want to miss out on our dream due to limiting beliefs. When travel restrictions prevented us from visiting South Korea and Japan in 2020, we decided to explore Tanzania instead. It was a decision that opened our eyes to the incredible experiences that we could have as a family, even during a pandemic. We were able to witness the stunning wildlife of the Serengeti and other national parks without the usual crowds and we were embraced warmly by the locals who were grateful for any visitors. This experience motivated us to take even more action and finally pursue our dream of traveling around the world as a family. We realized that our children are still at an age where they are interested in creating memories with us rather than prioritizing time with their friends, so we want to take advantage of this opportunity.

After dreaming and discussing for a while, now we have come up with a plan for our future adventure. The start date is set for summer 2023, we already won over our employers, we are determined to figure out the kids' schooling and finance everything. We already have a rough itinerary in mind and we are involving our children in the planning process. We talk to them about various destinations and activities that we will be doing, and we are starting to teach them about the different cultures and languages they will encounter on the trip. We want them to be excited and prepared for what lies ahead.

We want to invite you to follow us on our adventure.🤗 You can come along as we get lost in the planning process by conducting extensive research and figuring out the logistics of traveling with young children. We will consider different modes of transportation, accommodation options and travel costs. We will also take into account the children's ages and interests to ensure that we can find activities that everyone will enjoy.

As we embark on our journey, we know that we may face challenges while traveling. But we are looking at life as an adventure and are confident that we will be able to handle any small or big obstacles that might come our way. We are excited to experience the beauty of the world together as a family, climbing mountains, swimming in oceans, and exploring ancient ruins. We are also looking forward to meeting people from different cultures and making new friends along the way.

Our idea was born out of our desire to expose our children to different cultures and experiences, to teach them about the world. We know that traveling as a family will also be an unforgettable experience that will allow us to bond as a family and create memories that we will cherish forever. If you're considering traveling with your children, our advice is to plan, involve them in the process and be prepared for anything. We have learned from our one-month-long travels that the rewards of such an adventure are immeasurable and the memories will last a lifetime.
